On February 18th, I posted about the possible relocation of a Sexually Violent Predator, Matthew Hedge, into my neighborhood. Well, it looks like it’s NOT happening!! YAY! Words can’t even express how thankful I am.
According to this story in the Ramona Sentinel, the home owner, Charles Koppa, voided the contract and sent the holding deposit back to Liberty Healthcare. He did this with media, community planning board members and several neighbors present. And then just today, I got to see this letter from Liberty Healthcare to the Honorable Judge Wellington, withdrawing their request for placement at the property in Ramona.
On February 19th, me and my mom attended the Community Planning Board meeting here in Ramona. It was so amazing to see so many concerned residents out in force. We listened for more than 2 hours while Liberty Healthcare reps tried to convince us that it was safe to let this scum live in our town, and many many residents get up and shoot them down! I was brought to tears several times listening to concerned parents. Particularly, was a woman who, with her 10 year old son, lives right next door to the property! Can you imagine?? She would have been held prisoner in her own home, unable to sell, worrying every day about the scum of a neighbor.
So today I am so thankful to God that this scum will not be in our town. I can continue to take my children into the community without worrying and looking over my shoulder.
