REVIEW ~ All-Star Sports Trading Cards

Today I got to play with Mr. A. and create some personalized trading cards.

I received them from

From their website:

Basically, our project consisted of a few pictures, and some stickers to decorate.  Mr. A. was really excited to get started.  He was especially happy because he was going to get to use his safety scissors!  Here is what came in the box:

Here is Mr. A. carefully cutting out the pictures:

Here we are applying the heavy duty stickers:

Now the stickers were a nice quality, heavy duty sticker.  But they didn’t really stick worth a darn.  They kept lifting up off the picture.  I pressed and pressed and couldn’t get them to stay down.

Here are our finished cards!

I do have a bit of criticism.  In today’s digital age, it was kind of a pain in the butt to get some pictures developed for this project.  I actually added on some of my pictures to my mothers Costco order so I could get some hard copy pictures.  Everything I have is digital anymore.  Also, the pictures are hard to cut with safety scissors.  I ended up having to bust out my regular scissors to help him cut the photos.   Mr. A is 4 1/2 and this toy is for 4+, so keep in mind, you will probably need to supervise and help the younger ones.

I asked Mr. A. if he had fun making the cards and he said “YES!”  So in the end, that is what counts the most.

Action Toys, Inc. has been extremely generous and has offered my readers a special promo code to get 20% off and FREE shipping!  How cool is that?!

Just visit their website, www.actiontoysinc.com and when you check out enter promo code BLG001.  This code is good until May 31, 2009

I think that Action Toys, Inc. has a lot of really great, creative toys for kids.  Even though this particular toy didn’t end up being my favorite, I can’t wait to try others!!

PS – I just wanted to quick come on and add a little extra comment.  My hubby suggested that maybe if I had just printed the photos onto regular paper, then the stickers would have stuck much better and it would not have taken me 3 weeks to get photos printed.  He’s a smart one.  So you might want to keep that in mind, although, the cards would not be as sturdy if you used stock paper instead of photo paper.  Just thought I would throw that out there. :)
