When I was 9 years old, my father died of a massive heart attack. He was only 30 years old. Then my mother in law had a heart attack and was in the hospital last year. Thanks to God that she survived. Heart health is something that is very important to me. It’s why I jumped at the chance to help spread the about a new campaign for Cheerios.
Did you know that high cholesterol is one of the major controllable factors in woman’s coronary heart disease? Did you also know that it’s the number one cause of death for women? Yeah, I didn’t either.
“A recent study conducted by Harris Interactive for Cheerios found that more than one-third of adults (37 percent) have not had their cholesterol checked within the past year. Those with limited access to adequate healthcare may not get regular cholesterol screenings and thus are at an even greater risk for heart disease.”
It’s why Cheerios has launched Circle of Helping Hearts. On specially marked packages of Cheerios cereal, there is a code. For every one of these code’s entered at www.cheerioshelpinghearts.com, Cheerios will donate $1.00 (up to $200,000.00) to raise awareness and provide screenings for women in need. This is an amazing opportunity for you to get involved, spread the word, and there’s even a prize thrown in for fun!
I have THREE beautiful fresh water pearl charm bracelet’s to give away. The heart charm is from Charity Charms, which donates a portion of the proceeds from its charms to various charities. By wearing your charm bracelet, you can show your dedication to raising awareness of woman’s heart health.
Seriously, this is a beautiful bracelet. Fresh water pearls, and the silver heart charm and clasp. Really lovely. Do you want to know how to win it? Of course you do!

I get my cholesterol checked every year to monitor my numbers and work on them if needed. Right now I need to work on my good cholesterol, so I’m walking more on the treadmill, along with lots of other exercise.
do try to watch the fat..get it checked once a year as well as most other things
I’ve studied a lot about heart health because I have dealt with heart issues related to systemic lupus since my early 30′s. I incorporate heart-healthy foods such as salmon, olive oil, and oats into my diet. I also use guided imagery as a health modality.
I eat pretty healthy, and I take long walks practically everyday with my son. And since I have a toddler, we both eat a lot of Cheerios
eating much less red meat and exercising more
My doc diagnosed me with high blood pressure last year, and put me on a basic diuretic to help me lower these numbers. My cholesterol checked out just fine, thankfully. I joined a gym last month after my previous gym closed a year ago, and I’ve made changes to my diet — I’m eating oatmeal in the morning, changed all dairy to non-fat, plus added more heart-friendly fruits and vegetables. I’m looking forward to my next checkup and seeing healthier numbers this time around. Thanks!
I am exercising more especially through walking. Whenever I can walk somewhere I am doing it and I am also starting to hike since the weather is getting warmer.

I help my heart (and the hearts of family members) by starting each day with a good, healthy breakfast that includes a whole-grain cereal (like Cheerios or Multi-Grain Cheerios), home-made (breadmaker) whole wheat toast with a home-made fruit spread, fruit and green tea.
Watching my red meat intake, working out and portion control. Thanks for the chance.

I’m making an effort to eat right, drink a glass of grape juice daily and eat one square of dark chocolate daily.
I KEEP MY HEART HEALTHY BY EATING A BALANCED DIET, SEEING MY DOCTOR REGULARLY AND EXERCISING. MY SECRET IS TAKING THE STAIRS WHENEVER IT IS AN OPTION – SCORN THE ELEVATOR AND STEP YOUR WAY TO HEART HEALTH!
I try to run every Friday
And drink water
I joined the Metamucil Heart Club, which is an online support site that allows you to set goals, track them, and gain support and pertinent information from their site.
I have my cholesterol checked regularly, and workout at the Y three times a week.
Im trying to eat healthier and walking more!
I try to work out 3 days a week
To maintain a healthy heart I try to incorporate foods in my diet that are high in fiber.
I am eating more healthy foods and exercising. My mother had to have a pacemaker put in. This helped her for a while but she is no longer living. I want to take care of my heart so I don’t have to have that done.

I have to admit I am awful when it comes to health checkups. What makes that really bad is that I am a nurse. I do try to exercise mostly by chasing around my little one. I haven’t had my cholesterol checked in about quite a while. I am grateful for heart awareness month because it reminds me that I need to get on track!

I have high cholesterol and high blood pressure and so to stay healthy I see my doctor regularly for checkups and follow her advice. Plus I’ve been trying to increase my fiber intake and eat more fruits and veggies.
My grandmother had her first heart attack when she was my age, so I’m trying to eat healthier and lose weight — losing weight means less work my heart has to do to lug me around!
Since I’m prego right now the doc is constantly checking BP and stuff like that so I know my numbers…hubby just had his cholestorol checked and guess what? cheerio time for him…it was a little high…and he is one of those “unclassic” cases…skinny and such…but he has slightly elevated cholestorol..so we are gonna bring his number down.

I run on a treadmill once a day and I eat healthy and take plenty of vitamins to keep my heart strong.
I watch what I eat, not for weight issues, Ive always been underweight in fact, I watch it because when I was 18, tests came back showing that I had high cholesteral, and it was a big shock.

I eat Honey Oat Cheerios every day and walk everywhere I can to help my heart and keep cholesterol lowered. I was surprised to learn that oats are the only grain that do this, so I try to eat a lot of oatmeal as well.
I worry about my heart health because I’m overweight and I’m stressed at work. Sometimes I have chest pains, which I hope are just heartburn, not an indicator of anything more serious. My mom has an irregular heartbeat and a heart murmur. Meanwhile, DH has a thyroid condition and several men in his family tree died of heart disease. Heart disease is something I do worry about, but I still don’t exercise as often as I should. This beautiful bracelet would be a nice reminder to be good to myself and my heart.
I am trying to exercise daily and eat healthier. I had my cholesterol checked this January and my numbers came back fine (I cannot tell you off the top of my head what they were but they were healthy). I am eating more whole grain to help possibly reduce the risk of heart disease. Thanks for the chance to win!

I’m a little ashamed to admit that although I’m a nurse in an intensive/cardiac care unit, I don’t take very good care of my heart. I’m making a conscious effort now to begin eating a more heart healthy diet and exercise.
My family loves cheerios

This past January I stopped smoking and started exercising more. After 17 years of being a pack plus a day smoker it was hard but really worth it for my family and my health.
Thanks!

I had a full physical, including checking my cholesterol, this fall, just to make sure everything is okay, which thankfully it was. To stay heart healthy, I walk the dog every evening. It is good for both of us and is great for de-stressing also. Thanks!
I’ve had my chlorestoral checked. people think because i’m not overweight i don’t have to worry about that. the problem is heredity is a factor for problems with your chlorestoral. Unfortunately for me heredity has worked against me. So I need to eat a low fat diet and foods like cheerios to help lower my chlorestoral.
We eat cheerios every morning. I love them and they are so good for you. Since we have moved to the beach we exercise and are way more active.

I have to take good care of my heart due to I am on heart and blood thinner medicines. It is important that we all take good care of out heart! The good thing about eating Cheerios is that it does lower cholesterol! Thanks for a great giveaway!
I walk 30 minutes a day and workout 5 days a week for heart and bone health. My last cholesterol test was a little high – hope to bring it down for the next test
I’ve had my cholesterol checked and exercise often and try to eat healthy.
I am ashamed to say I do not know my numbers. But I am aware of the risks I may have ahead of me, I have since stopped smoking (on accident) but still its been almost 4 months. And I am slowly starting to exercise to get in shape.

I have not had my cholestoral checked but I do eat low carbs, hardly any sugar, and I take walks regularly when the weather is warm, when it’s not I try to find a place indoors to walk, like the mall.
Thank you for the giveaway!
I’ve had my cholesterol checked. I exercise as often as I can and usually eat a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast.

I know I should, but I actually don’t know my numbers. I do try my best to exercise throughout the week to get my heart pumping. I also try to fill up on fruits and veggies so that I’m too full to want sweets.
