Do you have kids? Then you have stains! And since you have stains, you NEED a Bissell Little Green Machine.
I really don’t know how I survived my life before I got this amazing little machine delivered to my door. We have a big carpet shampooer/steamer thing. It’s huge. But I’ve always appreciated having it…came in handy after all 3 boys suffered a stomach bug! Well, wouldn’t you know that one of the twins conveniently suffered a stomach bug right after I opened my new Bissell? Yeppers. I was actually happy the little guy was sick because it meant I could really try the thing out.
Let me not get ahead of myself here.
My Bissell arrived at my door courtesy of Wal Mart and Bissell in conjunction with Wal Mart’s Earth Month celebration. Wal Mart currently has a You Tube channel devoted to environmental tips and reviews. I made a couple videos that might end up on there before the end of the month.
How’s that for special? One of my videos happens to be the following Bissell Green Machine review. Take a look…don’t laugh!
The thing I loved most about this little machine? It REALLY works! And it works fantastic! As you can see in my video, it took that dining room stain up in no time at all. I don’t even know what that stain was it had been there so long. But as I mentioned above, Dennis got sick like 3 days after making my video and he barfed all over the hallway. I just whipped my Little Green Machine out and had the stain cleaned up lickety split. Before I had this machine, I would have wasted an entire pack of baby wipes cleaning it up. How’s that for not being environmentally friendly?
Speaking of environmentally friendly…Bissell has put a lot of thought into this version of the Little Green Machine. They took out all the PVC from the holding tanks and hoses, built it using no less that 50% post consumer recycled plastic, they reformulated the cleaning solution and they repacked the machine with all cardboard…no styrofoam or PVC inserts.
And the boxes make for fun, too!
So this month, do yourself, and the Earth, a favor. Get yourself a Bissell Little Green Machine. You can buy one right from Bissell, or you can pick one up from Wal Mart. I promise that you won’t be disappointed by this compact, powerful and Earth friendlier little machine.
Oh, but wait a second…..
I have one to GIVEAWAY! YAY!
Would you like to WIN yourself one of these handy little gadgets? Of course you would. Courtesy of Bissell and WalMart, one of my very lucky readers will get one of their very own shipped to their door.
MANDATORY FIRST ENTRY:
Leave me a comment and tell me what you are doing in your household to “go green.” That’s it. Simple enough isn’t it?
Click here for your additional entry opportunities and contest rules.
This contest will run until Wednesday, April 22, 2009. Earth Day. Entries must be received by 11:59pm, Pacific Time. Winner will be announced on April 23rd and notified by email. They will then have 72 hours to reply. Good luck!

Wow! I loved your video too! You did a great job! I would LOVE to win one of these. We are trying to be more green here at the Scott household. We are recycling, and I have recently switched all of our lightbulbs in our house to those new energy wise ones. (you know, the funny shaped ones…LOL) Anyway, we also (out of neccesity) replaced our old water heater with a more energy wise, flow demand water heater. So, there you go that is a few of the changes we have mad here to be more ‘Green’
As a mom to 6 kids, I would love (and need) to win this. Thank you for the opportunity.

We are trying to go green by doing things such as using a floor steamer on our carpets and linoleum instead of using harmful chemicals. This way, we only have to use water and the power of steam to clean…it’s great! For other parts of the house, we use eco-friendly cleaning products.
Thanks for the chance. I have been wanting one of these to spot clean our carpets.

Hello, What a fabulous prize giveaway drawing! I could certainly use this green cleaning machine in our home. Our carpeted stairway that goes upstairs gets dirty constantly. I sit on each step trying to remove spots. Our family made a commitment early in the year to become more green. We are taking baby steps. We turned down the temperature on the water heater and take no longer than 5 minute showers! Also, we turned down the thermostat and wore warmer clothes indoors. We have always recycled and we now each have our own reusable water bottle.
Hopefully, we will continue to become more eco-conscious. Please enter my name in your fantastic giveaway prize drawing.
Many thanks, Cindi
We stopped using plastic bags when we go to the market, we take our own.

I’ve been cooking more in the mocrowave because it uses alot less power then the stove/range. Also recycling even the littlest things like reusing paper and using more glass.
I’m doing everything I can – driving less, recycling, changing out light bulbs, turning off lights, etc. Thanks for the giveaway.
I recycle everything I can and I also use the reusable shopping bags.
would LOVE this
I clean all my floors with the Shark steam cleaner & we’ve changed all our light bulbs out to be environmentally friendly. I also garden & grow our own vegetables.
I am just starting to use “green” cleaners. I have COPD so they are much appreciated by my lungs as well as the enviornment. I also own 17 totes — no more plastic bags! YEAH!

I actually had been living green long before it was fashionable. I always recycled, I never leave lights on when no one is in the room, and I have been cleaning with simple green products for many years. Thats just a few of the things I did.
I could really use this machine. I have a full size bissell shampooer, but for little spots and stains, the little green machine would be much handier!

We switched to CFL bulbs, unplug things when we arent using them ( like the cable box, tvs, microwave), use reusable totes for grocery shopping. We also got rid of our landline phone since we rarely used it ( we use our cell phones) – plus we had a portable in every room which needed the base to be plugged into an outlet.

I have changed all the lightbulbs to the new kind. Already conservative, I have gotten my sister to cut down on her use of things. We always turn our lights etc. off. Thank you.
Im going to get all new energey star and eco friendly products.
We’re really into recycling everything…and I’ve got my teenagers into buying their clothes at Goodwill.
I really need one of these!
We are no longer buying or using paper towels. We also use Norwex enviromentally safe cleaning products. http://www.norwex.com

The photo of your son in the box is priceless… my kids love boxes too, as did I as a child. There is just so much possibility with a box.

We recycle paper, plastic, glass and cans. We have replaced bulbs with energy efficient ones. Conserving on water and not using the car so much and when we do we make one round trip and do errands all at one time if possible. skyxsky27(at)gmail.com
I would love one of those! We try to recycle everything possible: cans, paper, cardboard, acceptable plastics. We actually have more recycle-ables then trash every week. We even try to look for products that are better for the enviroment when shopping.
no plastic bags (cloth ones!) and no plastic water bottles!

We no longer buy bottle water in order to help the environment. We use water filters instead.
We’ve switched out all our light bulbs, recycle nearly everything, compost, grow our own garden, feed kitchen scraps to the chickens and goats. The only thing I have left to do is make my own cleaning products. I would love one of these though!

We found going GREEN fun and easy!
Our city has started an all in one large recycling bin program. We find it gets filled faster then the small bin ever did. We also donate our newspapers to schools, stores, and people in need of packing material.
All our lights are energy savers and we try and use mother natures central heat/cooling system (window) or keep the house at a standard temp rather then constantly fiddling with the control pad.
Instead of tossing out our lawn waste we mulch it to fill in our flower beds and “low” lawn spots.
Meals are planned out so we cut down on food waste and extra shopping trips.
My in-laws are big into DIY projects, so there are always homemade items to pass around or “scraps” to be had.
I put in a tankless hot water heater and energy saving light bulbs.
I recycle everything that can be recycled.
I recycled everything possible – paper, plastic, cans, bottles, etc. I’ve also switched to using bio degradable garbage bags and poop bags (for the dog).
I’ve tried to change my cleaning products to more earth friendly ones where I can.
And I always work on reducing, reusing, and recycling! Go Earth!

Yes we are green, and green can mean joys!
We recycle books, plastic, paper, and toys,
We bicycle to the library, we read about the Earth,
And we are aware of organic worth,
We conserve water, we shut off lights,
We grow vegetables and look at stars on clear nights….
All we need is a Bissell green machine now,
It would have a green family , and fit in, and how!
I recycle and bring a grocery bag when I shop
we’re eating organic foods!
we reuse bottles as dog toys

I try to conserve energy at my place. It involves constantly going behind my little ones and turning off lights and completely turning off the heat whenever the weather permits.
We eat lots of organic foods. We have energy saving light bulbs. Any plastic grocery bags that make it into the house are always reused.
RT~http://twitter.com/hondaray6/status/1488098639
We carpool, use low energy lightbulbs, turn off electric gadgets and bulbs.
RT~http://twitter.com/hondaray6/status/1490584184
We now recycle all of our cans, battles, and plastic (working on doing a better job with paper), and we are concious of what types of cleaning products we bring into the home, opting for ‘green’ options when we can.

We are re placing most of our lightbulbs with the eco friendly kind. I don’t use them in main rooms overhead though because the light is too dim for me…they are making incredible advances in them though, so I am sure that soon they will have brighter “green” bulbs.
I have been changing out my light bulbs with eco friendly bulbs as the old ones burn out. Instead of throwing the burnt out bulbs in the trash, I am saving them to make Christmas ornaments. I am also using the resuable bags to do my shopping. I keep the bags in my truck so they are all handy.

If I won this – it certainly wouldn’t go to waste! In any event, first entry requirement, what am I doing to go green, you ask? Well, I am now buying more green products (from Walmart – yes, there, I said it!), we recycle, we are planting our own garden in our fabulous garden area in the back yard, I am teaching the children to respect the earth and not be wasteful. I have 5 kids…and the amount is UNBELIEVEABLE…now I never worry about having paper for kids to draw on or for mw to print up random things from the computer on!!!
We are gardening this year, buying meat from a local farm and recycling more.
The most recent things we have been doing in my household to go green is replacing every lightbulb with more energy efficient ones and only buying eco friendly cleaners! They actually seem to work better than any of the ones chock full of chemicals! And smell better too!

I have rescue animals: 2 dogs and 10 cats. The cats are frequently getting up hair balls and that is really a chore to clean, so a Little Green would really help me with that.
The environment is an important issue to us. We recycle mostly everything that we can.: cans, plastic, glass, paper, cardboard, books, etc. We have a compost pile. We had one last year and the soil is so rich now for our garden. We have changed the oill in our vans to full synthetic which adds great fuel economy. We changed from regular light bulbs to flourescent in all of our lamps and anything else that takes a light bulb when these lights first came out. To conserve energy, we either cook in a microwave/browning oven or outside on our grill. I have not used my stove in over three years. Thank you for your wonderful giveaway.
We just started trying to recycle (hard since there is no program in our area), composting, using less electricity and planting a small organic herb/veggie garden.
At our home we are starting to switch to greener products for cleaning like windows, floors, bathrooms, ect. We are recycling more every week and have been donating instead of throwing things out.
I’m really trying to make my own cleaning supplies, which really isn’t helping too much!
What a wonderful contest – thanks for posting!

The things that we’re doing to “Go Green” in our house…I switched all of our lightbulbs months ago to the energy saving kind, we only turn on lights when we need them. We’re keeping the windows open as much as possible and only turning on the a/c at night. All laundry gets done in cold water. Most clothes get hung up to dry and those that don’t, as soon as the dryer beeps signaling it’s done, we turn it off. Don’t let the water run while brushing teeth, and I’ve made the twins stopping singing in the shower to cut down on shower times. As my current cleaning products get used up, I’m going to switch to those natural, refillable ones. I’ve also gone to paperless billing for as many bills as I can and all those papers the kids bring home from school that are blank on the back make great scrap paper!
