Have you seen this blog, Bakerella? She is amazing! I wish I had one tiny bit of her talent. I was introduced to this site through Baking with Bridgette at the Not So Blog. So I got the brilliant idea that I would make some of her cake pop’s for Easter. They looked easy enough.
Making the pops were very easy. Baked a cake, ran it through my food processor and added some frosting. Was very easy to roll into balls. But since I decided not to put my pop’s on a stick, getting the white chocolate outer shell wasn’t so great. I couldn’t get it uniform and had several bald spots from my spoon. I can see how dipping them with a stick into the chocolate would have probably been easier.
Then I started to draw the faces on the bunnies. The Wilton edible pens I had paid $8 bucks on sucked. So Bob found some leftover black frosting from some other project and we ended up using that to make their faces.
In this picture, you can see my faceless bunnies. My mom thought they looked like pigs.
(yeah, I know I am not a good food photographer. Sorry)
Here is one of the cuter ones.
And for direct comparison, a mine and her’s shot.
What do you think? Please be kind.
Needless to say, my Easter Bunny Cake Pop’s are not nearly as cute as Bakerella’s. But I think the kids will be happy enough with them.
Have a Happy Easter!!

I think they are cute. I am sure if I tried, mine wouldn’t be nearly as good the first time trying.
SO cute! i’m sure mine would look more like blobs…but i want to try to make them sometime. i’m a sucky cook and baker!!! i commend you for trying!
Those are too cute, almost too cute to eat.
I think they turned out great! I was on Bakerella’s website the other day and I was extremely impressed with her pops. I wish I had such talent. I’m sure mine wouldn’t turn out nearly as good as yours did.
They can be hard to cover. I have made them and I didn’t have much better luck with the sticks (though I was using plastic reusable ones) they kept sliding out. I did find that if I flipped them so that the side that the spoon had touched and left uncovered spot was on top, I could use the spoon to kind of spin the chocolate so that it covered the ball and made a swirl on top.
They are very good!! My kids loved them. I also make them for our valentine dinner at church and they went over well.
