On the first of the month, I posted an article with tips to help with “End of the Day Whining.” It was written by Sharon Silver of ProActiveParenting.net.
A little about Sharon:
I had my first child when I was 21; I thought I had it all together. I yelled, screamed and punished and I secretly felt awful afterwards. I had achieved my immediate goal of stopping the unwanted behavior, but at what cost? One day my 3 yr. old backed away from me, assuming I was going to spank him. I was crushed. I had replaced my beautiful child’s trust in me with-fear. I never spanked again. Read more of Sharon’s Bio…
I loved Sharon’s tips for helping to deal with the crankies and in return have a more pleasant dinner experience. Her thoughtful and practical advice really worked in this house. And that’s just what Pro Active Parenting offers: Thoughtful and practical advice based on sound parenting principles. They help you to learn how to parent and teach through discipline, not punishment.

I need the How to Respond not React to Toddler and Preschool Behavior seminar! My daughter is almost three and some days she likes to push all the right buttons that drive me nuts!

I think the toddler one would help me A LOT, I want to be prepared when our daughter starts behaving in ways that I need to ‘respond’ not react, hubby too!
I think the “Interrupting” one would be perfect as this is a common problem. Apparently, whispering my name over and over again isn’t interrupting. Would like to see if this applies to my children AND my wife.
The how to respond, not react to toddler behavior sounds interesting to me. My son is still an infant, but he’ll be a toddler soon enough so I want to be prepared, especially seeing what my sister went through with her kids!
