I posted this morning about how days 1 and 2 were going on our first family vacation. We are having a nice relaxing time here at the Country Inns & Suites in Ventura. It’s real different being in the city as opposed to our country home (translation…the freeway is noisy!). Today we have done nothing but swim in the pool and eat. Isn’t that what a vacation is all about??
Best of all…at this very moment…2 out of 3 boys are passed out sleeping on the couch (**Correction….all three are out for the count!) YAY! It’s really quiet right now and as soon as I post these promised pictures, I might just lay down myself. SWEET!
We liked our first train ride!
Our very BIG living room. Don’t mind the shoes…just like home.
We have a FULL kitchen. It’s a little old and well used…but it’s SO nice to have. We are saving a ton of money fixing our own food instead of eating out.
This is a weird little extra room in between the living area and the bedroom. The boys like to play in here, but won’t use it to sleep.
Our view. There is the Ventura Pier and Pacific Ocean out in the distance, unfortunately, it’s obscured by this Amtrak Bridge and Freeway.
See…there is the ocean…We’ll be heading down there tomorrow.
First night. The boys thought it was “SO COOL!” this magic hide-a-bed couch! LOL!
We’ve got a nice pool. The boys love the big pool and being able to jump in…they are not allowed to have that kind of fun at home with the little pool…
“Did you see that? It was SO cool mom!”
Alrighty. There is my photo recap of our first days on vacation at the Country Inns & Suites in Ventura. Tomorrow we’ll head down to the pier and check out the beach. Fun times! Should I wake up the nappers?? Um, no.

Your room is SO big. Nice! Glad to hear you are having a great time!
That room is HUGE! I don’t think I have ever stayed in a hotel with that big of a living room. Looks like the boys are having a good time in the pool. Now, go get YOUR nap in before they wake up. Hope you guys have a blast!
OMGosh! You have no idea how huge this suite is. Bedroom, extra room, dressing room, foray, kitchen, bathroom. It’s crazy big, I didn’t even do it justice with my pics.
Rhea, I am so go glad to hear that you had such a wonderful trip — the pictures are great and your boys are ADORABLE. I’m glad that you were able to take advantage of the full kitchen — I love having that option when I travel.
Thank you for sharing your family with ours.
