Pretty Sure We’re Pregnant!

This morning me and my IP’s are 9.5dp3dt.  In English, this means that we are 9 and a half days past our 3 day embryo transfer.  Most people don’t really count half and three quarter days, but in surrogacy you do!  Oh, and if you wonder, a 3 day embryo transfer just means we put the embryos inside of my uterus 3 days after they were fertilized.

Yesterday afternoon I finally saw two pink lines on my pregnancy test!  I swear, all this waiting in surrogacy is torture!  But the lines were very very faint.  So faint that I thought maybe I was just wishing them to be there when they really weren’t.  But because I can’t keep anything to myself, I immediately called Shannon and told her the wonderful news!

I even told my momdot and facebook friends.

Yeah, I suck at secrets.  LOL

As happy as I was, I could not get the BFP to show up in a picture.  I decided to wait until this morning to hopefully get a darker positive.

I tested this morning on two different tests.

There were still lines, but they are still very faint.

*UGH*

Why aren’t they darker already??!!

I tried to take a video of them to see if they would show up.  You should have heard me and Shannon on the phone while I downloaded the video.  Pretty funny.  We were both so excited but I was frustrated because I can’t really share it with her.  They aren’t showing up on film!  Stupid camera.  I went to find my other camera.  A higher resolution one.  Maybe that will work.

Guess what?

It did!

Here is my proof that I am not seeing pink elephants…I mean lines!

Do you see it, too?

Do you have a scanner? That’s how I got mine to show up when it was too faint for a photo.

That is so exciting! I think that it so amazing that you are doing this for someone! What a wonderful and amazing thing!!! So glad it’s working out!!
With my 1st I NEVER got a dark line – only faint ones no matter what test I took. Weird! But, with #2 they were dark from the beginning. I personally think it was a preview of what was to come. Daughter – difficult and hard to predict. Son – easy and always know what’s going to happen! LOL

    Congrats to you all!!

  14. Ginger says:

    Congrats on the BFP!

  15. Give me a kick on this one if I’m wrong but I thought that your not able to get a Postive POSTIVE on a test unless your over 10 days after a transfer.

My friend used to do Ivf transfers and she said because of the shots that they will give a inaccurate reading on a pregnancy test.

NOt trying to ruin the fun (I see the linkes too- but if they aren’t getting darker…) but I’ll send extra baby dust your way in hopes that you got a sticky one.
and of course i’m the last one who should be talking about lines on a pregnancy test with my first never got dark lines even at 3 m pregnant

You are not technically wrong about the false positives. It does happen a lot in surrogacy/IVF. They are usually referred to as a “chemical pregnancy.” But I don’t think there is a specific “all clear” date that it doesn’t happen anymore.

My first surrogacy, I got a positive on day 6 and it was real. So we are hopeful. We’ll know for sure very soon!!

  17. Sabrina says:

    Absolute positives!!!!!

  18. OMG! I got goosebumps when I saw that – definitely some lines there!
