The other day I was having a conversation with the boys. For some reason we were talking about “humans.”
I asked Gabe: “Is mommy a human?”
He replied: “Mommy is not a human…she’s a girl.”
We all had a good laugh, but then a light bulb went off.
Wouldn’t that make for a GREAT website/blog? I talked Bob into buying me the domain www.momisnothuman.com. There is nothing there…yet. I’m working on it.
I think the possibilities are awesome for this. The graphics alone could be SO much fun. I have the above graphic in my mind, but I need the peeled off “costume” to be a mom, not a dad. I actually emailed the graphic artist to ask if it could be changed. I have been tinkering with it a bit in Photoshop, but I’m not a great graphic artist and my skills are lacking. I’ve also gotten suggestions for a “mom” but with eyes showing out the back of her head and maybe some “go go gadget” arms. LOL! Fun, huh?
Right now I’m trying to plan for content. It definitely needs to be a humor blog with some amazing inspirational stuff in there. Don’t you think? I just need some creative help from you. What do you think? I would love your ideas.
Should I focus on humor? Inspirational stories about being “super human?” Both?
Also, if you have a story that you think would be a good fit, by all means, submit it. I’ll need content when it goes live and I think it’s a great opportunity to showcase others. God knows I’m not super human by myself, but a lot of YOU are. I might eventually even gear it towards a community blog, or at least have regular guest authors.
Anyhow…This is what I’m thinking. What do you think? Oh, and you don’t even need to be a “blogger” to submit a story to me. Just have something amazing to share, because I think all mom’s are not ordinary humans.
I think you could do a little of both and organize it isn’t memes like Inspirational Mom Monday or Laugh Till It Hurts Thursday, something like that. Because, being a mom, we all know how some days are down right crappy and inspiration is what we need and some days you can’t believe what came out of their mouths and it’s too funny NOT to share.
The meme’s are a great idea!

I like the humor aspect of the idea. What creature from another world can do all these jobs in the same day: Budgeting/accounting,
teaching/homework monitoring, librarian, inspirational speaker, taxi cab driver, coach, merry maids, occupational-physical therapist (teaching children to dress themselves, brush teeth, brush hair, toliet correctly, use utensils, play ball etc…), nurse (when children are sick), mechanic (if you change a tire or more), gas station attendant (cleaning your own windows, filling up, and checking the oil or winshield cleaner levels), snow removal personnel (if you’re the one shoveling all the lovely snow), internet blogging specialist, pr representative, the list could go on and on, etc….
No mere human mortal mom could do it all I say,
she must be an alien,
from a planet far away.
Definitely lots of humorous posts, pictures, memes, etc. and I think for one of your “super human feats” you could tackle a special project or experiment each month like taking pictures every day for a month, making a craft every week with the kids for a month, you know, accomplishing things that ONLY A MOM could do. Your no poo experiment is a perfect example! I don’t know–my idea probably sucks and might be too time consuming for you, but hey, I tried to brainstorm
