I lost 5 pounds!
woot!
When I delivered my surrogate baby, I dropped a bunch in that first week and then it’s held steady ever since. He was born about 13 weeks ago. I can’t tell you how frustrating it is to think you are doing pretty good with your diet and exercise and not see any results on your scale. I’m so happy that it’s finally starting to go down.
Exercise:
I only got one 5 mile walk in this week. Now my foot is giving me grief so I was hoping to let it rest some.
Diet:
I drink a protein shake for most breakfasts and some lunches. If I don’t make a shake I try to pick something out of my Hungry Girl Cookbook
. I will generally eat dinner with the family. Dinner isn’t usually “diet” friendly, but I try to be careful with portions.
Holy cow, portions are VERY SMALL. I am so used to eating giant amounts of food and the portion control has been hard. No wonder the country is so fat, we eat triple what we should. This has been the hardest thing for me to get used to and I’m still working on it. Lucky for me, I received an EatSmart Precision Pro Digital Food Scale in my Bloggers on Bourbon gift bag. You can get your own at Amazon and then you can see just exactly what 4 ounces of chicken looks like. It’s not much.
So, anyhow. I’m happy to at least be going down and not up. And thank goodness the scale is moving because seeing the same exact number for 12 weeks was annoying, too.
Now I want you to link up your health, fitness and diet posts so I can come check them out. Losing weight is hard, we need all the support we can get!

Congratulations on the weight loss! Way to go!!! That is so awesome! Every victories needs a whole lot of cheering, especially when it seems like we’re stuck. I’m glad you’ve been sticking with it!
Keep it up and it WILL come off, just be consistant, and when you fall off the wagon (we all do on this weight loss journey) just look for the next one down the road and hop right back on. You’ll get there especially if you watch your portions and be faithful to excercise.
Yay! Congratulations Rhea! I’m about 4lbs away from my first goal, but that’s only because I haven’t been able to eat. Hurray for gall bladder issues!
Keep up the good work (and sorry I’ve been bad about checking this…)!
I’m sorry you are having issues with your gall bladder! You are like my 3rd friend this year that is having problems. That stinks. Hope you start to feel better.
Congrats on the 5lbs, that is wonderful!
I love the EatSmart kitchen scale. It is the perfect size and I love the “tare” button so I can zero it out easily with a plate or bowl on it then add my food.
I love my scale! It’s my favorite gift and use it every day. I am learning so much about portions with it. Crazy.
Congratulations on your weight loss. You were probably having problems dropping pounds at first because you were probably building muscle from all the walking you have been doing.
Are you weighing yourself daily? I know when I try to lose weight, I will try not to weight myself for at least a couple days because if I don’t see change in a day I tend to get frustrated.
Big, proud thoughts being sent your way from me!!!!! I hope your foot gets better soon
