GIVEAWAY ~ Plasma Car! (CLOSED)

redplasmacarI bet you are saying…”What the heck is this Plasma Car?!”  And really, I don’t know what plasma has to do with it at all.  But I do know that we LOVE it!

The PlasmaCar is a mechanical marvel that makes use of that most inexhaustible of energy sources, kid-power, by harnessing the natural forces of inertia, centrifugal force, gravity, and friction. It’s so easy to operate; all it needs is a driver and a smooth, flat surface.

plasmacar3Our Plasma Car arrived (courtesy of PlaSmart) for us to try.  Initially, I thought “Oh my God!  These boys are going to fight over this thing…what what I thinking?”  And I was right.

Case in point:

But, after the initial “it’s mine!  I want it!  It’s my turn!” drama was over, we settled into a nice sharing routine where everyone took turns and had a GREAT time driving the Plasma Car.

It works like this:  You hop on, pick your feet up, and use just your arm power to make it go.  You can turn the wheel around to go backwards, you can turn, go strait or go in circles.  The Plasma Car takes no batteries so it’s quiet (YAY, no annoying musical toys!) and it futuristic design makes it look “cool.”  It will hold up to 220 pounds, so even my husband got on and took it for a ride!

My nephew with cerebral palsy was even able to get on and take it for a ride.  He has some control over his arm movements so he was able to make it go forward and backwards without much trouble.  He was so excited to have a “bike” he was able to control and have fun with.  We were really impressed with that!

plasmacar1plasmacar2The Plasma Car has won many toy awards, and has met or exceeded all international safety standards.  It’s built out of rugged plastic, with no gears to rust, no batteries to replace and it is so simple to operate.  My boys will be playing with this fun toy for a long time!

The Plasma Car is available for purchase at their website for $69.95 and is also at retailers nationwide.

You can learn more about Plasma Car by following them on Twitter @PlaSmart or become a fan on Facebook.

And now Plasma Car wants to give one of my readers one to try themselves!

GIVEAWAY ~ Ginger Kids Fun Cookbook (closed)

gingerkidslogoMr. A. loves to help me in the kitchen, as most five year olds do, I think.  He loves to crack eggs and French Toast is his favorite food to prepare.  So when I was introduced to Ginger Kids, I was curious to learn more about what they offered.

A little about Ginger Kids:

Created in 1994, Ginger Kids’ mission is to encourage children to embrace and appreciate cultural diversity while emphasizing the similarities among us. Offering a diverse line of multicultural and educational baking products, Ginger Kids provides a fun and creative context for family togetherness while simultaneously teaching children about foreign lands and cultures along with the ABC’s of baking. In essence, Ginger Kids products allow children to travel the world while giving families the opportunity to create treasured memories within their own home.

Kitchen_Basics_Cover_MdGinger Kids was nice enough to send me their Kitchen Basics:  Rules, Tools and Etiquette…for Kids Cookbook to test out with my son.

This cookbook is a bright and colorful and full of information from recipes to how to set the table.  There are resources to help with measurements, types of kitchen tools, table manners and party planning.  It really is an “all in one” book to motivate kids to get into cooking.

Now, I did find some of the concepts above my (soon to be) five year old.  But for a little bit older kids, I think it’s great.  Also, it comes as a very sturdy 3-ring binder, so it will last through rough children and has space to add your own family recipes.

I think this book will eventually get a lot of use from my son as he becomes more comfortable (and trustworthy) in the kitchen.  It was created to teach children that cooking as a family can be a fantastic experience and I think that it does a good job introducing the kitchen to kids.  It also provides parents with a resource to make kitchen time, family time, and a starting point for cooking.

GIVEAWAY ~ Sam's Club Introduces eValues (CLOSED)

evaluesI tried SO hard to be a “couponer.”  Like 5 separate times even.  But I sucked at it.  I got really into it for a bit not long ago.  I had a coupon binder and went crazy buying newspapers and spent hours (yes, hours) clipping and organizing coupons.  There are people that say it only takes a minimum amount of time after the initial set up, but I think they are lying.  So my coupons and their fancy organizer are in a pile in my bedroom not saving me a bit of money.

But now Sam’s Club is introducing a paperless coupon system that is perfect for people like me:  The non-coupon clipping couponers.  It’s called eValues.

Sam’s Club Plus Members will receive offers tailored to them and discounts will be automatically taken at the register using their existing Membership cards. Sam’s Club is also including offers on high-ticket items such as appliances, electronics, tires, mattresses and services including optical.  There are no coupons to clip and no rebate forms to complete and mail with eValues.

COOL!

Automatic discounts and coupons loaded directly onto my Sam’s Club Plus Membership Card!

Now, a Sam’s Club Plus Membership has an annual fee of $100.00, but Sam’s is guaranteeing a minimum of $200.00 in automatic savings annually, so your card will totally pay for itself…double!  And, if you are not satisfied with your savings on the eValues program, they will refund your membership fee.  Yeah, I said it.  There is absolutely no risk here to try it out.

I personally would much rather pay for a membership somewhere that I will make money back and not have to torture myself trying to clip and organize paper coupons.  In addition, think of all the trees you will be saving by not using paper!  YAY for being Green!

I even have a little video you are encouraged to watch so you can see exactly how the program will work for you.

Now, I did promise a giveaway didn’t I?

STSBadgeI am very excited to be one of just a handful of amazing bloggers chosen to work directly with Sam’s Club to bring you the latest and greatest that they have to offer.  Along with this honor, comes a few perks…for you!

First, I will be giving away TEN Sam’s Club Plus Memberships (one per week) in September and October.  I’ve decided that we are going to have a little fun with this and play some games and such along the way.  But for now, this week, I will keep it simple.

First Mandatory Entry (to be completed first)

Answer the question:  What would you do with an extra $200 a year?  Because that’s how much you are guaranteed to save with the eValues program.  Would you buy something special?  Pay some bills?  Save it?  Get creative!

Bonus Entry for this Giveaway

First, Become a follower of Sam’s Club on Twitter. Then, tweet this message and receive an entry, tweet as much as you like for unlimited entries!  Don’t forget to link me to your tweets in order to count.

Special Deal on 500 Business Cards from DigitalRoom.com (CLOSED)

digitalroomlogoBoy, do I have a special deal for TWO lucky readers!  Are you a blogger in need of business cards for an upcoming conference?  A business person running low?  A mom trying to start a home business who need some professional die cut business cards?  Maybe you just want some “mommy cards” to pass around at play dates?

The people at Digital Room are offering to let two of my readers get a set of 500 business cards for the price of shipping only.  Sweet!

It’s really important in today’s busy market to promote yourself and look professional.  Especially in the blogosphere, business cards are an important tool for getting your website name out to networks.  It’s something that I don’t have yet and really need to get.  I have on more than one occasion told someone about my blog and it would have been SO nice to have a business card to give them.

Digital Room is letting me choose two readers to receive this great deal:

  • 500 Business Cards
  • Choose from three different business card sizes: 2×3.5”, 2×3”, 2×2″;
  • Choose paper: 14pt cardstock (matte or gloss coating) & 13 pt cardstock uncoated
  • Choose Color: (4/4) Color both sides; (4/1) Color 1 side , B/W backside; (4/0) Color 1 side, black backside

The two readers chosen will be required to pay their own shipping.  Offer open to residents of the United States only.

I can’t really call this a “giveaway” since the “winner” will be paying shipping.  So my usual contest rules will NOT apply.  Instead, to enter I need a comment telling me how you would use the business cardsAfter you leave me that comment, you may TWEET the offer as much as you like and gain an extra entry with each tweet.  Be sure to leave me a comment for all your tweets.

That’s it.  Only two ways to score this offer.  Comment and Tweet.

I will choose the two readers who will score this great deal on Friday September 4th at 10:00PM Pacific Time.  I will use Random.org to choose the comments and then notify those chosen by email.  They will have 72 hours to reply before I choose someone new.

Do NOT enter if you are not willing to pay the shipping costs. Don’t waste your time or mine by making me choose someone new.  Okay?  Thanks.
