Let Sam’s Club Help You Trim Your Tree This Season!

OMGosh!  It’s ALMOST CHRISTMAS!

Yeah, I said it.  The “C” word.  I can’t believe how fast it’s come up.  It seems like it was just Valentine’s Day.   Where has the year gone?  This time next week we will all be in a turkey coma, (unless you are a crazy person out shopping the Black Friday deals like ME!), and the hustle and bustle of the Holiday Season will be here.

I just LOVE Christmas!  I love the wonder, the excitement, the children’s eyes when they see Santa, the presents and the decorations.  I have boxes and boxes of decorations and a huge trunk is dedicated entirely to the Tree.

Sam’s Club wants you to know that they have everything you need to make a FABULOUS designer Christmas Tree.  And I can tell you….they certainly do!

I got to partake in a super fun Christmas Tree decorating contest with the other Sam’s Club community bloggers.  We were all assigned one of the designer trees and were instructed to go to our local club with the provided list of items needed, purchase the items and follow the easy instructions to end up with a beautiful tree.  One that Santa himself would be envious of!

Now, I was feeling a bit full of myself and decided to take on a unique design rather than follow the lists provided.  This was mostly because I am a brat and just HAD to have THREE of the adorable St. Jude Sock Monkeys and none of the designer trees came with three monkeys.  I mean, I’m the Mommy to three Monkeys…I NEED three monkeys!  Am I right?

Here is the fun, whimsical and child friendly tree I came up with.  Isn’t it fabulous??  I am in love with it.  Here is the list of things I used so you can recreate the look for yourself:

  • Three St. Jude Sock Monkeys in Blue (item #543205) A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this monkey goes directly to St. Jude.
  • Two packs of Holiday Candy Canes (item #644465)
  • 50 yards of holiday ribbon (item #868576)
  • One pack Decorative Tree Picks (item #635696)
  • One pack 107 count Shatterproof Trim Kit (item #580268)

I spent a total of only $111.42 for my complete designer look.

I just love how my tree turned out.  Now, I don’t get to keep this tree.  As much as I love it, it will be going to charity.  Which I think is super cool and am really happy about that.  But I’ve decided that I must go back to Sam’s Club to buy the Decorative Picks and three St. Jude Sock Monkeys to add to my personal collection.  They are just too much fun not to have my own!

Creating your own designer tree can be just as easy if you follow the list of instructions from Sam’s Club.  They make your holiday’s simple!

Vote for Me!

Sam’s Club will be putting all of the blogger tree’s up on their Sam’s Club Facebook Fan page where YOU will be invited to VOTE for your favorite (ME! ME! ME!).  Look under the “Trim your Tree” tab.  The blogger who gets the most votes will win $100!  If I won that, I could afford to buy more Sam’s Club decorations for my own tree.  YAY.

Do you have an “unfortunate” tree?  A “Charlie Brown” tree?  Something you wish was more fabulous?  I remember one Christmas where I was so poor, I decorated my ficus!  Now that was unfortunate.

Well, now Sam’s Club wants to help you out.  You can submit a picture of your most unfortunate Christmas tree and the person with the saddest tree will win a fabulous new designer tree, complete with all the decorations!  That is about a $300.00 worth of festive cheer!  No more unfortunate trees for you! YAY!

Sam’s Club Has An App For That

Apple® is coming to a Sam’s Club near you (iPhones, iPads and accessories!), and to celebrate Sam’s Club has developed the very first club store App.

Leading up to the busiest shopping season of the year, Sam’s Club enhances and simplifies the shopping experience as the first membership warehouse club to offer smart phone application technology. The newly launched Sam’s Club App can be downloaded for free from the iPhone App Store, Android Market and BlackBerry App World. The app includes exclusive features, such as access to product information, member reviews and eValues. The Sam’s Club App makes it simple and easy for members to interact with Sam’s Club and to make smart choices on products throughout the club and online.

I love my Sam’s Club Mobile App!

I’ve had this app on my iPhone since September.  I didn’t even realize it was “new.”  It’s such a great resource to have and allows users access to a ton of useful information.

  • Locate and get driving directions to their local Sam’s Club.
  • Get in-depth product details and reviews by using the built-in barcode scanner or searching the product catalog.
  • Plus Member’s can check their account to see their available eValues.
  • Check product availability and featured items by club.
  • Browse Samsclub.com for product selection.

I’m going to show you how you can use the mobile app to check the availability of products in your local store.

Step 1: Open your mobile app on your iPhone or other Smart Phone.  The first thing you will see is your “welcome page.”  To find out if a specific product is available in your local club, click on “Products.”

Step 2: Scroll through the available product categories to find what you need.  Remember last  month when I introduced you to Sophyto Skin Care?  Well, I just love the product and wanted to see if my store was one of the 150 clubs nationwide that carried the line.  I clicked on “Sophyto Skin Care.”

Step 3: Scroll through available products matching your search query.  Unfortunately for me, Sophyto is not sold in my local club, but by tapping the product name I can find more options, like “details,” “reviews,” “email,” and “view online.”  By tapping “view online” the app takes me to the Sam’s Club website where I can easily purchase the product for shipment.

By using the Sam’s Club Mobile App I was able to learn that my product was not going to be in the store and it saved me a drive into town where I would have been disappointed to find it unavailable.

Easy Peasy!

Now, I want you to download the FREE Sam’s Club app and check it out yourself.  By doing so, you will be entered to win this very cool iHome IP1C iPod/iPhone Studio Series Sound System!

The holiday’s are right around the corner here and it’s so easy to get caught up in the shopping and eating and running around like a crazy person.  Many times we get so wrapped up in the stresses of it all that we forget about ourselves.  Why not kill two birds with one stone?  Procter & Gamble is making it easy to Like, Love and Pamper the ones you love while giving you a little happiness as well.

I was given the opportunity to create my own special gift basket using P&G products.  I chose to use only Olay Face Care products because both my mom and my aunt love the anti-aging, Regenerist line.  The products at Sam’s Club come in “bulk” so it was easy to create a special pampering gift for more than one person without having to think too hard about it.

I came really close to buying my aunt Terri the Olay Pro-X line because it’s supposed to be fabulous and right  now with the Rewards Program going on, it would have been such a great deal!

Pro-X Retail Price:  $93.48
Special In-Club Price:  $83.48
Olay Rewards:  <$20.00>
Beauty Rewards:  <$10.00>

Final Price:  $53.48

I should kick myself for not buying it, but I’ve never been that great at math, or shopping.  But that’s okay, because I’m happy that I got two beautiful gifts to pamper my beautiful mom and aunt.  What more can I ask for in a gift?  Oh, yeah.  I’ll be getting $30 in gift cards back.  Go Me!

Stay tuned because there will be a contest coming along shortly where you will get a chance to win a fabulous Procter & Gamble gift basket of your own!  I’ll have details on that in a few days.  Hurry in to get your Rewards, the $10.00 P&G Beauty Rewards program ends soon.  For more details on these rewards programs, visit this P&G Magalog.

Sam’s Club Costume Contest Winner!

It was so much fun to host a Halloween Costume Contest.  I saw a bunch of great submissions and was really impressed by my readers creativity.  I think so many people take the easy way out at Halloween and commercialism reigns with all the super hero costumes and such.  But it’s hard!  Kids see those shiny catalogs and that’s what they want.  Still gotta make the kids happy, right? But this contest was fun.  It was fun to see that so many people still put in great efforts to make their kids’ Halloweens special and unique.

I am really excited to get to announce the winner of the Sam’s Club Halloween Costume Contest!

Tree Weekley from Indian Valley, VA

Tree’s Garden Gnome sitting on a Toadstool was handmade and entered over at Brandy’s blog.  Very cool and creative!  She is the proud new owner of a fabulous Wii Bundle from Sam’s Club.  CONGRATULATIONS!

Sam’s Club “Holiday Traditions” Winners!

I know it was a super short contest, but there were some really fabulous prizes up for grabs, so I hope you entered!  And now I get to share with you the winning entries to the Sam’s Club Holiday Traditions Video/Essay Contest.

The Winning Essay goes to April Yedinak from Hodgenville, KY.  April wins a Nikon CoolPix S3000 valued at $119.88

Santa’s Crazy Helper

As children get older, they start to question the existence of Santa. In an effort to prolong this magical part of their childhood, we have a Christmas Eve tradition of planting Santa evidence that would keep the North Pole CSI guessing for months.

Of course, there is the usual eating of cookies and quaffing of room temperature milk- leaving visible bite marks in sugar wreaths and lip prints on the glass.  Where we veer off the normal track is outside the house.

Carrots and apples are left on the porch for the reindeer with the appropriate bite marks (I am now stuffed).   Snow or dirt is used  to make deer tracks.  A few sleigh bells are  scattered, along with some hastily gathered ‘deer dropping’ pilfered, with gloved hand,  from a neighbor’s yard (Merry Christmas people with the Great Dane).

The final touch is sled marks made using a pair of 2×4′s that we drag across the lawn, evenly spaced for several yards.  At this point the egg nog has usually begun to override our discretion and we are giggling and snowball fighting at 3 am in our pajamas.

Lack of sleep- priceless, because my kids still believe!

The Winning Video goes to Tiffany Snedaker of Eagle Mountain, UT.  Tiffany wins the 26″ Magnavox HDTV!

So help me congratulate April and Tiffany!  They have some really special holiday traditions.  Don’t forget to stay tuned for the launch of the Sam’s Club Holiday Traditions website where you’ll get to see these entries plus some of the runner ups.
