Initial Thoughts On My Sam’s Club Visit

I have been a “Sharing the Savings” mom for a little more than a year now.  I’ve gotten to share Sam’s Club promotions and fun deals with you and in return I’ve gotten paid.  Shocker, huh?  I was not a Sam’s Club member before I became their blogger.  I was a devout club store shopper, just not this club store.  Over the past year, I’ve gotten familiar with my local club and while I didn’t have any problems with it, I just didn’t choose to shop there regularly unless I was preparing information for a promotion.

One little trip to Bentonville, Arkansas has changed that.

I learned a lot of surprising things about Sam’s Club this week.  My view of the store has changed for the better and I really think it was a great idea for them to invite us out to tour their facilities.  I really think more brands need to do this with their blogging communities because it has given me (the blogger) a whole new view on the brand that has helped support my family this past year.  It will make my job easier because I have a new passion for the club that wasn’t there before.

  • Did you know that Sam’s Club does blind taste tests on every food item that they stock in their store?  They will not put it on the shelves if it isn’t good and if people don’t like it.  They even do this with packaged baked goods and boxed side dishes.
  • Sam’s Club has a test kitchen where they develop all these amazing “meal solutions” so that you can go into a store and pick up something delicious while on the go.
  • They consult with real live blackberry breeders to ensure that they are providing the very best blackberries in the store.  They do this will all produce items.
  • Each department has it’s own set of buyers that goes out into the world to find only the very best products for their departments.  I was shocked to learn how much effort they actually put into their products.
  • They have a team of people thinking up ways to keep the “club store” prices in line with what actually fits into people’s pantry’s.  Like coffee, for instance, is packaged into three 5 pound bags instead of one large 15 pound bag that can potentially go bad before you ever use it.
  • The people that work at Sam’s Club headquarters in Bentonville, Arkansas are just about the nicest people I’ve ever met.  And they like to feed us!

I will have lots of Sam’s Club stories coming in the future.  I took some 280 pictures and learned a TON of things.  I met some really great people and had a lot of fun.  But I just wanted to say Thank You to Sam’s Club for bringing us out and showing us what exactly you do.  It was enlightening and inspiring and I came away really impressed with your entire operation.

Sam’s Club really is all about Savings Made Simple.

Leaving…On A Jet Plane

I’ll be leaving bright and early tomorrow (Tuesday) morning for Arkansas.  One of my primary sponsors here on my blog is Sam’s Club, and they have invited their group of bloggers to visit headquarters and spend time with them.

FUN!

I can’t wait to meet some of the other girls.  Particularly, Brandy, Stacie, and Jacqueline.  I think there is supposed to be about 10 of us total.

The Sam’s Club people have a very full and fun week planned. Things that are top secret….for now. *wink*

Ya’ll be good and don’t cause any trouble while I’m gone!  I do have posts scheduled to go up while I’m gone so don’t forget to come visit me.  I’ll be checking in.  I mean, it is the era of iPhones so it’s not like I’ll be gone, gone if you know what I mean.

Please pray for Bob…he’s got to work night shift and take care of the boys since his boss up and decided not to let him switch his schedule around.  But that’s an entirely different story.  Let’s just say STUPID.  Thank God for great family stepping in to help us hold down the fort.  I’ll owe some people big time!

Bye!

It’s a Sam’s Club Party

I know, I’m all “blah blah blahing” about Sam’s Club this week, but that’s because they are having a party and you are invited!

I really do shop at Sam’s Club.  I really do use their eValues program (it rocks!) and I really do love Click ‘n’ Pull.  September 1-6 Sam’s Club will be allowing all members to experience special “Plus Membership” benefits.  Because they are having this Savings Celebration, they are having some even more awesome than normal eValues savings.  YAY for me and YAY for you!

School just started.  I know being a new homeschooler, I will be having to put my printer into overdrive.  Printer ink is expensive.  Next week, HP Ink is going to be $10 off!  I will be driving the 45 minutes I have to drive to get to my local club, just to take advantage of this deal.

The Gatorade and Tide deals are just bonuses.

Anyhow, the point is, being a Plus Member at Sam’s Club is a very good idea.  Go check out their Savings Celebration page and see what kind of cool deals you can take advantage of this coming Labor Day weekend.

Sam’s Club provided me with monetary compensation for my participation in the Labor Day eValues Campaign.  The opinions are still always mine.

Click ‘n’ Pull Makes me Happy

I hate dragging my boys to the store.  Absolutely hate it.  With a passion.  There is three of them and one of me.  They take off in every which direction, touch every single item on every single shelf.  It is a constant barrage of “mommy look at this,” “mommy can I have that?” “mommy, mommy mommy mommy….”

AAAHHHHH!!!!!

Because of this, I tend to try and schedule every shopping trip during a time when Bob can be home (and awake) to keep the boys for me while I shop.  Bob works nights and sleeps days.  It’s not always possible to do this.  Sometimes, life deals me a bad hand and I just have to take the boys with me.  It’s times like this that I really appreciate Click ‘n’ Pull® at Sam’s Club.

Click ‘n’ Pull allows me to order my groceries online and then have a Sam’s Club person pull my items off the shelves and have them waiting for me when I arrive.   And doing it this way allows me to utilize my eValues, too.

Click ‘n’ Pull greatly reduces my stress and makes me happy.  You should try it, too.

Don’t forget that the week of September 1-6, Sam’s Club is allowing all members to try out the eValues program (normally only available for Plus Memberships) for free.  So it would be a great time to try out eValues and Click ‘n’ Pull.

eValues for Everyone!

I mentioned yesterday how Sam’s Club eValues are cool. They give you so many discounts that are automatically added to your Plus Membership card.  It’s so easy, especially for busy mom’s like us.  You don’t have to clip and organize your paper coupons.  I mean, I tried doing that.  I tried hard.  And it was a pain in the butt.  My boys would all try to “help.”

Yeah, you know how that went.

Right out the window!

So, if you are a “regular” Sam’s Club card holder, during the week of September 1-6, you’ll get to try eValues for free.  Really, I’m not just saying it, but eValues are cool.  Get your behind to the store and check it out for yourself.
