I Have a #BlogHer11 Hangover

….And I didn’t even drink!

Holy hell this was a wild weekend!!  I attended my very first BlogHer Blogging Convention right here in my town of San Diego.  It was three days of non-stop GO GO GO.  Party after party, booth after booth.  I met so many people, yet missed out on meeting thousands of others.  In the coming days I’ll have pictures and posts about different things I learned about, some new products hitting the stores and just general silliness of the whole thing.  But, I wanted to say HOLLA to my peeps here since I’ve been absent for what feels like a month (even though it’s just been a few days).

This pretty much sums up the whole weekend!  Me and my bud Kathleen had a BLAST all over town!  I don’t think I’ve laughed so hard for so many days in a long time.  I can’t wait to go to New York City next year!

I’ll be back with lots of pictures and updates.  Right now I need coffee.

I guess since I’m a local San Diego gal I should have posted more BlogHer information.  But I’m lazy like that.  Sorry it’s been quiet here, I’ll be inundating you all with pictures and Blogher updates soon enough. :)

In the meantime, enjoy a picture of me bleaching the ends of my hair in preparation for “dipped purple” ends.

I’m Going to BlogHer!

I’ll be Child Free at BlogHer '11!I was really excited last year when I learned that BlogHer ’11 was being held in San Diego.  I knew it would be stupid for me to miss it since it is something I’ve wanted to do for a very long time.  I would not need travel money or hotel money.   Easy peasy, right?

Um. Not right.

It turns out that BlogHer is next weekend and I am so unprepared!

Like many “mommy bloggers,” I am a stay-at-home-mom and we are getting by on one income.  Therefor, I wear a SAHM wardrobe, I have SAHM hair and I live on a SAHM budget.  It’s not pretty.

And now I am reading the #blogher11 hashtag on Twitter and I’m kind of freaking out.

Talks of new shoes, beautiful cocktail dresses, “who” she’s wearing, fancy hair-do’s and such is enough to make an insecure, overweight mommy go nuts.

I tried asking for some sponsorships to help me look like I belong but nothing really panned out.  So here I am, on the cusp of meeting about 3000 other bloggers and I have no new shoe’s! *GASP*

Here are a few outfits I have tentatively picked out.  I don’t love any of them, but they are comfortable.

I am not sure if I’ll get to the store this week to buy a box of Clairol, I don’t think I’m going to get that stain out of the front of my cute pink shirt, I certainly can’t afford this week to buy a new wardrobe or fancy cocktail dress.

But what I will be doing is scanning the crowd for friendly faces, people who won’t judge me for my lack of designer duds.  I am one of the nicest, most loyal people you will meet.  I am real.  I am ME!  And you will take me for what I am or it’s not worth my time.

I am extremely excited to see my friend Kathleen again this weekend (we met in New Orleans) and she has a great Blogher Oath that you should read, especially if you plan on attending.  I might print it out and pass it out to people I meet.

Are you going to be at BlogHer?  Let me know, I would love to meet you!

Send ME to BlogHer 2010!

bloghersponsorI know, I’m early.  But I am really excited about the possibility of attending BlogHer ’10 next year in NEW YORK CITY!  Said in my best Pace Picante Sauce voice, of course.

I also know that I poked a  bit of fun at the BlogHer ’09 attendees this year, but it was only because I was incredibly jealous.  All the talk of meeting 1200 other bloggers, networking with executives, meeting PR people and other fun stuff had me feeling just a little left out.  So this is my “pitch” to be sure I am not left out of this amazing opportunity next time!

Just in case you don’t know what BlogHer is, it’s a HUGE blogging conference full of bloggers and media and marketing execs, all meeting in one place to share ideas, cross promote, and build relationships.  It’s full of classes so that bloggers like me can learn how to market themselves and grow.  And I want to grow!  My blog is my passion.  I spend a lot of time on it to make it useful to my readers and companies alike.  Won’t you help me?

You need to send me to BlogHer ’10 because I ROCK!  Really, I do.  I am very friendly and outgoing.  Just the kind of gal that you need to promote your company.  I am willing to hawk your wares to everyone that I meet and promote the heck out of you here on mommy23monkeys.com.

I am willing to work with you for partial or full sponsorships.  I will be needing event tickets, airfare, hotel, clothing and food.  Basically, the whole she-bang.  We are a single income family and making this dream come true will require a lot of help.  I would be extremely interested in working with companies that create and market to plus size ladies and multiples (twins) since these represent “me.”  Of course, anyone that is willing to support me, I will do the same for them!

In exchange for sponsorships, I am offering:

  • Advertising on my site for an entire calendar year.  You can chose to start the ad now, or at the beginning of 2010.  Of course, if you have another idea, I’m all ears!  Your site ads will reach an average of 20,000 unique viewers per month (and I’m growing).  I have several places to put an ad, sidebars, posts, etc.  We can work together to iron out the details particular to your sponsorship.
  • I can wear your clothes!  Have a logo t-shirt?  I can wear it and 12oo+ people will see your company name.
  • I will pass out business cards and/or other “swag” to everyone willing to listen.
  • I will post about your company before/during and after the event.

Of course, we can always come up with something unique together to get the word out about your company.

BlogHer could be such an amazing opportunity for this little stay at home mommy blogger.  Won’t you please consider helping me?

Contact me and let’s get started working together!

Thank you!

My “Not Going to BlogHer” Fashion Show

Everyone is abuzz talking about BlogHer.  I already mentioned how I feel about it.  And now all my so-called friends are posting their BlogHer fashion shows.  Ugh, it’s like a stake through the heart!  They have all had an excuse to go out and buy (or receive from sponsors) the cutest clothes and dammit, I am jealous!

But, because I didn’t want to feel left out…yet again.  I decided to put together my own fashion show.  Granted, it’s probably not quite as exciting as what the BlogHer attendees will be wearing, but it’s all I got.

Friday Night

While all my good bloggy buddies are schmoozing and hugging at the MomDot dinner, I will be here.  At home.  Probably wearing this fashionable little number:

Take a look at the intricate detail of these stylish, yet comfortable pants,

Saturday

While everyone is pedaling swag and wearing sponsor T-Shirts and other trendy outfits, I will be at my nephews beach birthday party.  Probably in something like this:

Ladies and gentlemen, that’s as fancy as it gets around here!  Except I might have to rethink this particular shirt….

Sunday

Another lazy day hanging at mi casa.  I’ll likely be lounging poolside in something like this:

Don’t hate.  I know I am a fashion GODDESS!

Which one of these little numbers should I sport during the Non BlogHer Party?  I’m thinking it will be the first one since it’s Friday night.

Look out Fashion Runway…Here I come!
