Let Sam’s Club Help You Trim Your Tree This Season!

OMGosh!  It’s ALMOST CHRISTMAS!

Yeah, I said it.  The “C” word.  I can’t believe how fast it’s come up.  It seems like it was just Valentine’s Day.   Where has the year gone?  This time next week we will all be in a turkey coma, (unless you are a crazy person out shopping the Black Friday deals like ME!), and the hustle and bustle of the Holiday Season will be here.

I just LOVE Christmas!  I love the wonder, the excitement, the children’s eyes when they see Santa, the presents and the decorations.  I have boxes and boxes of decorations and a huge trunk is dedicated entirely to the Tree.

Sam’s Club wants you to know that they have everything you need to make a FABULOUS designer Christmas Tree.  And I can tell you….they certainly do!

I got to partake in a super fun Christmas Tree decorating contest with the other Sam’s Club community bloggers.  We were all assigned one of the designer trees and were instructed to go to our local club with the provided list of items needed, purchase the items and follow the easy instructions to end up with a beautiful tree.  One that Santa himself would be envious of!

Now, I was feeling a bit full of myself and decided to take on a unique design rather than follow the lists provided.  This was mostly because I am a brat and just HAD to have THREE of the adorable St. Jude Sock Monkeys and none of the designer trees came with three monkeys.  I mean, I’m the Mommy to three Monkeys…I NEED three monkeys!  Am I right?

Here is the fun, whimsical and child friendly tree I came up with.  Isn’t it fabulous??  I am in love with it.  Here is the list of things I used so you can recreate the look for yourself:

  • Three St. Jude Sock Monkeys in Blue (item #543205) A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this monkey goes directly to St. Jude.
  • Two packs of Holiday Candy Canes (item #644465)
  • 50 yards of holiday ribbon (item #868576)
  • One pack Decorative Tree Picks (item #635696)
  • One pack 107 count Shatterproof Trim Kit (item #580268)

I spent a total of only $111.42 for my complete designer look.

I just love how my tree turned out.  Now, I don’t get to keep this tree.  As much as I love it, it will be going to charity.  Which I think is super cool and am really happy about that.  But I’ve decided that I must go back to Sam’s Club to buy the Decorative Picks and three St. Jude Sock Monkeys to add to my personal collection.  They are just too much fun not to have my own!

Creating your own designer tree can be just as easy if you follow the list of instructions from Sam’s Club.  They make your holiday’s simple!

ME!).  Look under the “Trim your Tree” tab.  The blogger who gets the most votes will win $100!  If I won that, I could afford to buy more Sam’s Club decorations for my own tree.  YAY.

Do you have an “unfortunate” tree?  A “Charlie Brown” tree?  Something you wish was more fabulous?  I remember one Christmas where I was so poor, I decorated my ficus!  Now that was unfortunate.

Well, now Sam’s Club wants to help you out.  You can submit a picture of your most unfortunate Christmas tree and the person with the saddest tree will win a fabulous new designer tree, complete with all the decorations!  That is about a $300.00 worth of festive cheer!  No more unfortunate trees for you! YAY!

Oh, Christmas Tree! The Way to Joy and Peace for Me!

Here is our family’s Christmas Tree!  It is a 7 foot Nobel Fir.  We got it at the Home Depot this year for only $40.00!  I thought that was pretty good.

Me and the little monkeys had such a nice time decorating it.  They were all very excited and Bobo was SO proud of himself when he was able to successfully get an ornament to stay on a branch.  Anthony was a huge help, getting the stool out of their bathroom so he could reach higher to the ornaments weren’t “all bunched up.”

When I was a kid (heck, even as an adult), my mom would always move around the ornaments after me and my brother were done decorating.  She is self admitted OCD and it would drive her crazy if the ornaments weren’t just right.  So this year, as much as I wanted to move around decorations, I didn’t.  I left all the ornaments as they ended up.  Even if they are all at the 3 foot level.

This year also marked a first for us.  TWO Christmas Trees!  FUN!

I wanted to have two.  I don’t know why.  I just did.  One year before children, when me and Bob lived in a tiny little house, we had a tiny little tree.  Since all my decorations would not fit, I decided to do my first “theme” tree.  I used all of Bob’s Star Trek decorations that he had collected over the years.  That little tree ended up being one of my favorites.  It was so fun!

So this year, when I wanted two trees, I just told Bob it was because I wanted another Star Trek tree.  TeeHee!  I knew it would be the only way Mr. Grinch himself would agree.  And he did.

I found the perfect little potted “tree” (I think it’s actually a type of house plant) at Sam’s Club.  It was only $16.00 bucks.  Here are the pictures of the tree, along with some close ups of some of Bob’s cool ornaments.

I can’t believe I used the word “cool” to describe Star Trek…

I know, it’s kinda funny that I have more pictures of my Star Trek tree than I do of my “really really really big tree” (as NayNay calls it).  Oh well.  What can I say?  I’m a closet Star Trek person…fan…trekkie…?
