Fat Flinging Friday’s Resurrected

Yeah, I know it’s Sunday but I’ve been contemplating resurrecting “Fat Flinging Friday‘s” for several days now and I think I’m finally going to do it.  If you haven’t been around long enough to remember what the heck I’m even talking about, then you can read my very first Fat Flinging Friday post HERE.  My weight loss efforts went awry when I got pregnant, but now that I’m “retired” from baby making, I need to get back on track.

The basic deal is this: I SUCK at losing weight.  So this is my accountability deal of sorts.  I’ll have a linky each week and if you feel so inclined, then you can add your accountability posts to it.  I figure this way, we can all support each other, give each other ideas on what actually works and what doesn’t.  Your weight loss post is yours, I only want to support each other.

I’m not really ready to share how much I actually weigh.  It’s incredibly embarrassing.  But I need to lose 100 pounds.  I’ve set myself a few goals and I am using them as my motivation.  Here they are:

  1. Be able to walk (and finish) 60 miles in November for the 3-Day for the Cure.
  2. Hike to the bottom of the Grand Canyon…and hike back out next summer.
  3. Ride the rollercoaster’s with my boys next time we visit a theme park.

Diet

I recently bought the Hungry Girl: Recipes and Survival Strategies for Guilt-Free Eating in the Real World cookbook and have tried a a few of her recipes.  So far, they are really good!  For breakfast I fix myself a protein shake and then lunch and dinner is something out of my Hungry Girl cookbook.

Exercise

If you’ve been reading, then you know I’m a walking fool.  This week (so far) I’ve logged 8 miles of walking.  I plan to do my 1st 8 mile walk tomorrow morning.  Wish me luck!  I think I am going to bust out my EA Sports Active for Wii and start getting some more exercise like that.

Fat Flinging Friday ~ Week 9

HEY!  Happy Friday!  Welcome to my weekly weight loss meme.  I am actually typing this up Thursday night.  So I haven’t weighed in yet.  I usually do it Friday morning.  But I have to be on the road at O’dark:thirty (well…7am…guess it’s not that early) to go with DH to a doctor appointment.  Then I have to spend my day at the DMV.  SOoooooo….I am writing this up now and will come back tomorrow (today) to weigh in.  Okay?

I do have a good feeling about this week.  I only had 2 beers at my bros house.  Of course, my mom was serving up some Lemon Chello things earlier in the week.  But all in all, I didn’t drink much.  AND I went walking last night.  YAY me!

However….I will begin taking steroids on Saturday in preparation for the surrogacy.  If you have taken steroids before you will know that they tend in increase your appetite.  They increase my appetite a LOT.  I just want to eat eat eat, it’s crazy!  So I will be working my ass off just to hold steady and I don’t really expect to lose anything in the next few weeks….nothing new there anyways, huh?

I’m going to be rethinking even posting Fat Flinging Friday past the next few weeks.  I mean, if all goes as expected, I am going to be pregnant by the end of August and pregnancy + dieting don’t mix.  Of course it will probably be back in FULL FORCE come next…oh…Mayish after I deliver and need to lose baby weight. :)   K?

Did anyone have any success this week?  It seems we’ve all been in a bit of a slump.  I wish I could come up with something super inspirational to motivate everyone.  But instead, I’ll just say “HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!”

Fat Flinging Friday ~ Week 8

Wow,  I can’t believe it’s Friday!  I’m just sitting here watching the Today Show and they said something about the weekend.  I thought, “oh crap!  It’s Friday!”  Where does the week go?

So I hopped up and went into the bathroom to weigh in.

*sigh*

No change.

WTH?  Well, granted, I didn’t exercise this week, I didn’t eat “diet” food.  But I thought I was doing well with no junk food and not over eating.  Maybe the half a package of Oreo’s I ate yesterday didn’t help?

I started this weekly accountability meme to help keep me on track and get me motivated to do better.  It’s obviously not working.  Here I am at week 8 and I’m still as fat as I was on week 1.

So I ran out of beer last night.  I am not going to buy any more.  No matter how “light” Coor’s claims to be, I think it’s sabotaging me.  Besides, with the surrogacy coming up, I told myself when my last box was gone I wouldn’t buy any more to prepare for that.  So I’ll see if that makes a difference this week.  I am hoping that it does.  But then that will kinda make me mad.  I love beer.  Do I love it more than being fat?  Hmmmm….that’s a hard decision!  LOL

My plan for this week:

  • No beer
  • Walk at least 3 times
  • Go in the pool with the boys and do some water aerobics
  • Drink more protein meal replacements

Fat Flinging Friday ~ Week 7

Well, shit.  I didn’t lose anything this week.  Did you?  I’m really getting frustrated.  I don’t usually have a hard time losing weight.   I gain and lose, gain and lose, my whole life.  I am one of those chronic dieters.  I have been making better food choices, eating less, not snacking on crap.  I don’t get it.

I do have to admit that I did not exercise this week.  It was a weird week.  The Fourth of July holiday, then going to Orange County on Tuesday, the week breezed by.  I know it’s not a great excuse, but it’s all I got.

Fat Flinging Friday ~ Week 6

Good morning Flingers!  What’s up?  I am happy today.  I checked my scale and am down 6 pounds!  woot!  It’s the same 6 pounds that I’ve gained and lost over the past few weeks, but at least it was a loss today!  I am also very happy to report that I walked 2 days this week.  YAY me!  Me, my mom and Mr. A. took off walking and did just over 1 mile each day.

I started my damn period today so I’m hoping I am retaining water or something and will be down some more next weigh in.

Who was it that posted about the 100 Push Up Challenge?  Someone left it in a comment somewhere and now I can’t remember where it was. *blush*  Anyhow, I was thinking of trying it.  What do you think?  Too ambitious?  I mean, I only did 2 days of my 30 day  EA Sports Active challenge.  LOL  As much as I tell myself I am going to start busting out, I never do.  So we’ll see.
