I bet you are saying…”What the heck is this Plasma Car?!”  And really, I don’t know what plasma has to do with it at all.  But I do know that we LOVE it!

The PlasmaCar is a mechanical marvel that makes use of that most inexhaustible of energy sources, kid-power, by harnessing the natural forces of inertia, centrifugal force, gravity, and friction. It’s so easy to operate; all it needs is a driver and a smooth, flat surface.

Our Plasma Car arrived (courtesy of PlaSmart) for us to try.  Initially, I thought “Oh my God!  These boys are going to fight over this thing…what what I thinking?”  And I was right.

But, after the initial “it’s mine!  I want it!  It’s my turn!” drama was over, we settled into a nice sharing routine where everyone took turns and had a GREAT time driving the Plasma Car.

It works like this:  You hop on, pick your feet up, and use just your arm power to make it go.  You can turn the wheel around to go backwards, you can turn, go strait or go in circles.  The Plasma Car takes no batteries so it’s quiet (YAY, no annoying musical toys!) and it futuristic design makes it look “cool.”  It will hold up to 220 pounds, so even my husband got on and took it for a ride!

My nephew with cerebral palsy was even able to get on and take it for a ride.  He has some control over his arm movements so he was able to make it go forward and backwards without much trouble.  He was so excited to have a “bike” he was able to control and have fun with.  We were really impressed with that!

The Plasma Car has won many toy awards, and has met or exceeded all international safety standards.  It’s built out of rugged plastic, with no gears to rust, no batteries to replace and it is so simple to operate.  My boys will be playing with this fun toy for a long time!
