Small Talk Six ~ I Scream You Scream!

smalltalksix125We all scream for ice cream!!!

YAY!  I love love love ice cream.   So when I saw this weeks topic I just kinda laughed.  This will be so easy!

Small Talk Six is momdot’s weekly Saturday meme in which you come up with a list of six items based off of a certain topic.  To see all the weekly topics so you can play with us, visit here!  So pull up your bowl and let’s get to it!

This weeks topic is:  6 flavors or types  of ice cream that you love or hate

  1. Ben and Jerry’s Coffee Heath Bar Crunch.  SO FREAKING GOOD!  Dh will bring me home a pint of this sucker and I’ll eat it all.  Maybe I should not admit that?  Maybe that’s why I can’t lose weight…hhmm…either way.  YUMO!
  2. Ben and Jerry’s Phish Food.  (Yeah, I like Ben and Jerry’s…got a problem with that?).  Chocolate ice cream, thick caramel, gooey marshmallow, little scrumptious chocolate fishies…ooohhh yeahhh!
  3. Denali Moose Tracks.  Now, I am not usually a vanilla fan at all, but there is such thick ribbons of heavenly fudge that it makes up for the vanilla ice cream.  Throw in some peanut butter cups and you have a winner.  By looking up these flavors, I just learned that Moose Tracks comes in chocolate. Now that sounds perfect and I will be looking for it next time I go shopping!
  4. Cold Stone Creamery’s Mud Pie Mojo (minus the almonds).  Coffee ice cream, chocolate syrup, peanut butter, whipped cream (mixed in), and crushed up oreo’s!  I never order anything else from Cold Stone.  This is the very best ever!
  5. Thrifty brand Chocolate Malted Crunch.  Yes, we can still find Thrifty flavors here in Southern California.  I have always loved the Chocolate Malted Crunch.  I remember getting it on my cones when I was a kid.  Brings back lots of good memories.
  6. Chocolate Drumsticks.  An American past time, ’nuff said.

Alright, so I didn’t list any ice cream that I hate.  That’s because I don’t really hate much ice cream.  The only thing I ask is that it’s not vanilla and it doesn’t have nuts.  But as you can see from my list…there are a few exceptions.

Small Talk Six ~ Patriotic Movies

smalltalksix125 Welcome to my Fourth of July edition of Small Talk Six.  Small Talk Six is momdot.com’s weekly Saturday meme where you make a list of 6 things from their chosen topics.  This weeks topic is:

6 of your favorite patriotic films

1.  Independence Day

independencedayposterLOVE this movie.  Really.  It’s on TV a lot and when ever I come across it, I watch it.  It doesn’t hurt that I love Will Smith and Jeff Goldbloom.  YUM!

2.  Armageddon

armageddonposter

FUN FUN movie to watch.  Funny and exciting.  Bruce Willis and Ben Affleck are great to watch.  I still (after a gazillion times watching) ball my eyes out when dad and daughter have to say good-bye.

3.  Live Free or Die Hard

die-hardAnother Bruce Willis one.  He’s the bomb.  This movie is just funny as shit.  Love it and am happy it’s playing on HBO right now because I’m watching the hell out of it.

4.  The American President

american_president_ver2So I don’t know if the message is really all that “patriotic” but I love it anyways.  It’s about a President, so that makes it patriotic, right?

5.  Born on the Fourth of July

bornonfourthofjulymovieI actually haven’t seen this movie in a long time.  but it was one that I liked a lot.  Besides, it’s got “fourth of July” right in the title, so it counts. :)

6.  Blackhawk Down

blackhawkdownGREAT movie.

So there is my list.  Not all of them are really “patriotic” but it’s the best I could do.  The top 3 are my absoulte favorite, any time of year.

Small Talk Six ~ Animal Kingdom

Hello.  Thanks for stopping by this weeks edition of Small Talk Six.  Momdot.com’s weekly Saturday meme.  This week was fun.  Everyone is sharing their list of six animals (domestic, wild or exotic) that would be fun to have as a pet.  I am a huge animal lover, so this week was easy and fun for me.

1.  Sulcata Tortoise. Seriously, is this not the cutest freaking thing ever?  I have been wanting one for a long time.  Ever since I worked at my uncle’s pet shop.  The only thing stopping me from bringing this adorable little thing home is the fact that it will live for 100 years and end up weighing about 100 pounds!  I worry about who would take care of it after I died.

2.  Turkey. I am actually really close to getting one of these right now (don’t tell the DH).  Me and my mom took all the boys to a local farm.  They had a petting zoo there with a couple turkey’s.  The boys LOVED them.  There was so many animals, but they just stayed and fed the turkey’s, laughing the whole time.  So today, I am at the pet store getting Mr. A. some guppy’s when I see a pen full of baby turkeys!!  I want one.  I want one bad.  I know, I’m impossibly hillbilly.  I can’t help it…they make my boys smile.

3.  Snake. This one is specifically a Ball Python.  They are really fun to have.  I had lots of different snakes growing up.  They’re cool.

4.  Pot Belly Pig. A.D.O.R.A.B.L.E.

5.  Miniature Horse.  I always thought it would be so fun to have one and let it come in and out of my house like a dog.  Again, I know I’m showing off my hillbilly nature.

6.  A Black and White Great Dane.  Beautiful dogs.  I’ve wanted one for many years but have never gotten one because they have pretty short life spans.  I get attached to my pets completely and can’t imagine losing one after only 8-10 years of old age.  Maybe someday.

So there’s my list.  What’s on yours??  If you want to learn more or participate in Small Talk Six, then head on over to momdot.com!

Small Talk Six ~ Breakfast!

mmmmm…..I love breakfast.  This weeks Small Talk Six is “6 Breakfast Foods you Love or Hate.” Well, there aren’t many breakfast foods that I hate.  So this week was easy.

1.  Stuffed French Toast.  O.M.G.  Just this morning me and my mom went to Mimi’s Cafe where they have “mixed berry pain perdu.”  It’s to die for!  This is not a picture of that…but it’s pretty darn close.

2.  Cheese Blintz.  You’ll notice this week that I am a sugar addict.  Cheese Blintz are no exception to this.  Sweet crepes filled with cream cheese/cottage cheese/sugar and lots of times topped with fruit.  IHOP has some good ones.

3.  Lucky Charms!

4.  Chocolate Chip Pancakes.  Yumo!

So my top 4 are sugar filled deliciousness…here are my final 2, sans sugar.

5.  Biscuits and gravy.  If it’s topped with cheddar cheese, it’s even better.

6.  Finally, Creamed Chip Beef.  Or if you are military, Shit on a Shingle.
